Greetings from Pastor Armin Jahr, Trefoldighed Pastor
Trefoldighed Menighed Greetings
The Apostle Paul writes, “…you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.” Ephesians 2:19-21 ESV
One hundred fifty-plus years ago, Norwegian immigrants broke ground for the first farms in our county. Along with their love for the land, they brought their family Bibles and faith. Shortly after arriving, they banded together, initially in Bible studies, and not long after, found our beloved congregation: Trefoldighed Meninghed: Trinity Congregation.
Today we pause to praise to God for his hand of blessing from generation to generation, and to give thanks for the dear people who passed this heritage to us. May we, through their example, be moved with joy and find ourselves renewed by the Holy Spirit in the mission of our congregation.
Prior to serving at Trefoldighed, my wife and I were involved in church planting. We celebrated when a new church made it to one, five and ten years. Today, we are a part of a church that is 150 years old—it is quite a tribute to God’s sustaining grace! The Apostle Paul writes in Philippians 1:3-6, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
This special anniversary book invites us to be inspired by the windows of the past and renewed for our future to continue the legacy of our congregation’s ministry. We have been given a great responsibility and opportunity to be a voice for Jesus in our rapidly changing world. May Trefoldighed’s past and the Spirit of God inspire and shape our mission and vision together for ministry in the days ahead!
On behalf of the congregation, I want to give a very special thank you to the 150th anniversary committee and all who have collected stories, records, and research, and have put together this book and the celebration events. Thank you for making our history come alive!
To God be the Glory!
